Conference Venue

The 2026 State of the Map conference sessions will be held in Cité Descartes, Champs-sur-Marne a suburb in the East of Paris where we will be hosted on the campus of our partners IGN, Géodata Paris, École nationale des ponts et chaussées and Université Gustave Eiffel.

The whole venue is wheelchair accessible. There are large open areas inside and outside of the venue, and features a cafeteria and restaurant. In the immediate vicinity one can find many amenities like shops, a pharmacy, etc. Head over to Panoramax to get an impression of the venue yourself.

The venue is located near the RER A local train line, connecting it directly to the centre of Paris in 20 minutes. From the station Noisy-Champs it is a short walk of approximately 600 metres (about 8 minutes) to the converence venue.

Getting to Paris

Railways

Paris is well served by train services. There are many direct connections to cities in France, as well as its neighbouring countries.

The TGV station Paris Marne-la-Vallée – Chessy (also known as Paris-Disneyland) is directly connected to the venue through the local train RER A in 20 minutes, thus it can be an alternative to the more central TGV stations Montparnasse, Gare du Nord, Gare de l'Est and Gare de Lyon.

The following map shows all the places from which you can reach Paris within 8 hours of train travel:

Local Transport

Paris and its area does further have an extensive public transport network (Île-de-France Mobilités) which means that getting around Paris is relatively straight forward.

Air Travel

Also by plane, Paris is quite easy to get to: There are great connections to Europe and the world from two major international airports: Roissy-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Orly (ORY). There are also some low-cost options to airports in and around Paris.

Road

It is of course also possible to reach Paris by car or by bus with Flixbus or BlaBlaCar

Visa

France is part of the Schengen area, so getting to it is open to all Europeans without any visa. Foreigners can find more information about the visa process and related details on france-visas.gouv.fr.
